Wrexham Woman to Change Time on 1000 Clocks

Spare a thought for Cheryl Jones when the clocks go back this weekend.

EAGLES MEADOW WREXHAM.... Pictured is Deputy manager of F Hinds, Cheryl Jones, who has the task of putting the shops 1,000 watches and clocks back an hour at the end of Briotish Summertime.

She’ll have too much time on her hands when she has to change the time on all the clocks and watches at the F Hinds jewellers shop at Eagles Meadow shopping centre in Wrexham.

Cheryl, 24, will have to adjust the store’s stock of around 1,000 timepieces when British Summertime officially ends on Sunday, October 25.

Cheryl said: “It will take around two days to do and when I finish I’ll breathe a sigh of relief. It’s hard work as some Casio and Citizen watches are quite complex and have different modes.

“We do have lots of customers coming back into the shop with help turning their watches back as well but we are only too pleased to help.”

Cheryl, who has worked for the company for five years at both Bury and Wrexham, added: “I usually start with the big clocks before moving onto the watches. It would definitely be easier if time went straight on and didn’t change!

“And we have always got Sunday, March 27, next year to look forward to. That’s when we will have to reverse the process, start again and turn all our watches and clocks forward by one hour.”
