It is time to get creative – and maybe even published – once more as the popular Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Libraries’ Anthology is launched.
The Anthology of short stories and poems, all from local people, becomes more popular every year, with people of all ages and from all walks of life showcasing their work.
Once again, all people who live, work or study in Rhondda Cynon Taf are being invited to submit creative pieces for inclusion in the 2011 Anthology.
There is no restriction on the subject matter, although short stories should be no longer than 2,000 words, and we are happy to receive them written in either Welsh or English.
This year, there is a special appeal for material from young people and adults, who have a particular flair for edgy and contemporary creative writing.
Cllr Robert Bevan, Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, said: “The annual Anthology is a popular celebration of creativity in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
“We are always so pleased with the excellent standard of work we receive from people of all walks of life, which leads to the compilation of an interesting and enjoyable anthology.
“I look forward to seeing the 2011 version of the Anthology and invite people to begin submitting their work now.”
People who wish to submit entries can do so by e-mailing them to:
[email protected] or by posting entries to
Catherine Langdon, Area Manager, North, Aberdare Library, Green Street, Aberdare, CF44 7AG. to arrive no later than June 30th
An editorial team will select entries for inclusion and will launch the anthology during October 2011.
