Rhondda Cynon Taf Council continues to work with staff and governors at Ynysboeth Infants School to return pupils to the classroom as soon as is possible.
Adaptation work has already begun at Ynysboeth Junior School to support the relocation of the infants school pupils to this site.
As soon as that work is completed, the children can return to school.
As well as beginning work immediately, the Council is also working with other schools across the county borough, which have kindly offered the use of learning materials and resources.
Officers will be visiting these schools to see what can be used by the infants school pupils.
The entire community surrounding Ynysboeth Infants has been upset by a devastating fire at the site, which began on Thursday evening.
The building has been almost completely destroyed by the fire, the cause of which is still being investigated.
Cllr Eudine Hanagan, Cabinet Member for Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills, said: “Work continues with other emergency services to establish how this tragic incident happened.
“However, our main focus at this time is to do all we can to return the pupils to the learning environment and we are hoping to have them in temporary accommodation on the junior school site soon.
“We are working with the staff, governors and parents at the school and keeping them updated on progress.”
