Young artists’ prize is inspired by the coast

Children are invited to get inventive and perhaps win a prize in Pembrokeshire Fish Week’s Sculpture competition 2010.

The theme this year is Coast and entrants should create a 3D artwork inspired by materials found along the coast.

There are three categories with different prizes for the winner in each:

11 years and under/ individual entry: £25 voucher sponsored by Emrys Arts

11 years and under/ group entry: a workshop with the Creative Café, Haverfordwest

12-16 years/ individual entry: £50 voucher sponsored by Emrys Arts

Entries will be judged by Pip Lewis, Spacetocreate Community Arts, and Deb Docherty, Art Lecturer at Pembrokeshire College.

The artwork must be movable and be no more than 1m x 1m in size. All entries must have a title, state which category they are entering, and be accompanied with entrants’ name and full details.

Entries are to be taken to Oriel y Parc, St Davids, by Wednesday, 9th June for judging. They will be assessed on criteria of innovation in the use of material and artistic merit.
