Over 600 talented young musicians from schools and colleges across the Caerphilly county borough will raise the roof at St David’s Hall during a special festive concert next month.
The much-anticipated ‘Christmas Extravaganza’ takes place on Tuesday 8th December and the event will feature a popular mix of music performed by a dazzling array of local musical talent. In previous years the event has been a sell out success with local people flocking to the concert for an evening of festive musical entertainment.
Some of the groups involved this year include the Youth Wind Orchestra, Youth Big Band, Youth Percussion Ensemble, Youth Brass Ensemble, Youth Sinfonia (featuring Chloe Angharad Bradshaw, the 2007 Caerphilly CBC Schools’ Young Musician of the Year), Youth String Fusion, Youth Chamber Choir and Youth Singers.
The will also be a Combined Schools’ Choir from the Cwm Rhymni cluster and a Combined Senior Choir including students from St Martins and Lewis Girls schools as well as a creative music project from St James Primary School and musical theatre featuring students from Rhymney comprehensive school and Heolddu school cluster.
The event is organised by the award winning Caerphilly Music Service and tickets are only available from the Box Office by calling 029 20 878444 (£5.50, £6.50 & £7.50).
