Ysgol Llantysilio says goodbye

Ysgol Llantysilio closes on Friday after being in existence since 1858.

Headteacher, Gordon Hughes says, “It has been a privilege to be the head teacher since 1998, and I shall certainly miss the school, staff and pupils as well as the views as I travelled over the Horseshoe Pass on my way to work – although perhaps not so much over the winter months!

“We are having an open afternoon tomorrow (Tuesday, 13 July) and a service at Llantysilio Church with present and past pupils and staff in attendance, along with Bishop of St Asaph, Bishop Gregory.

“Friday will be a sad day, but I hope that everyone who has been involved with the school will have fond memories of the education, events and opportunities that Ysgol Llantysilio has offered all its pupils over the years.

“The staff, pupils, parents and governors want to wish all the other schools in Denbighshire the very best for their future.”
