Local people who enjoy writing short stories or poetry can see their words in print in Rhondda Cynon Taf Libraries’ 2010 anthology.
The Libraries Service is inviting anyone who works, lives or studies in Rhondda Cynon Taf to submit a short story or poem for inclusion in the 2010 collection entitled ‘Inspirations’. There are no restrictions on subject matter, although short stories should be no longer than 3,000 words and can be written in either Welsh or English.
An editorial team will select entries for inclusion and will launch the anthology during October 2010. People who wish to submit entries can do so by e-mailing them to: [email protected] or by posting entries to: Ros Williams, Area Manager, North, Treorchy Library, Station Road, Treorchy, Rhondda, CF42 6NN, to arrive no later than June 30, 2010.
Cllr Robert Bevan, Rhondda Cynon Taf Cabinet Member for Culture and Recreation said: “Previous anthologies have proved very popular and have showcased a great deal of local literary talent.
“I hope we receive many entries again this year. I’m sure that those writers whose work is included in the final anthology will get a great deal of pleasure from seeing their published pieces.”
A separate, smaller anthology will also be produced this year to commemorate the Tonypandy Riots of 1910. Anyone who wishes to contribute a short story or poem, with suitable content based upon the origins of the Cambrian Combine Strike, the events of November 7 and 8, 1910, or any related material should submit entries to Ros Williams at either of the above contact addresses.
Please clearly identify your material for inclusion in either the Inspirations anthology or the Tonypandy Riots commemoration.
