Abersoch RNLI tows power boat to safety

At 1.10pm on Sunday, October 10, Abersoch RNLI launched their inshore lifeboat after reports of a fire on a Regal power boat off the Warren Beach.

There was an adult and three teenagers on board. The Abersoch RNLI volunteers were on scene in five minutes, by which time the fire, which had started in the engine area, had been extinguished.

The three teenagers were taken on board the lifeboat and an RNLI crew member boarded the casualty vessel. A line was attached and the 19ft stricken power boat was towed towards Pwllheli.

Approximately four miles south of their destination they were met by RNLI neighbours Pwllheli’s all-weather lifeboat which had been tasked to take over the tow to the Marina.
