Angle’s RNLI D-class inshore lifeboat was launched shortly after 6pm on Monday (28 June) after a report that a yacht was adrift off Black Tar, Llangwm, in the upper reaches of the Milford Haven Waterway.
The lifeboat, Richard John Talbot Hillier (D-638), found no sign of the yacht at Black Tar. But, a search further upriver located the vessel, with one man on board, off Lower Freystrop. He was surprised to see the lifeboat and told the RNLI volunteer crew members that all was well.
The call-out was recorded as a false alarm with good intent.
