Anglesey PCSO set for Half Marathon

A member of the Anglesey Neighbourhood Policing Team will be hoping for a good performance when she pounds the streets of Liverpool in her first ever half marathon.

Police Community Support Officer Alison Williams, who is based at Gaerwen Police Station, will participate in the 13-mile race on Sunday 28th March for two charities – the British Heart Foundation and SANDS (Stillbirth and neonatal death charity).

“These charities are both important to me,” said PCSO Williams. “It’s almost two years since I lost my father to a heart attack and it’s 12 years since I lost my son and I felt as though I wanted to do something.”

PCSO Williams is also being joined by her colleague and friend, PCSO Jan Hughes who is based at Menai Bridge Police Station.

PCSO Williams added: “The support from Jan is fantastic and I’m really grateful to her for her help.

“This is my first attempt at running and I’m going to try and raise as much cash as I can.”

Anybody who wishes to sponsor PCSO Williams can contact her at Gaerwen Police Station, Gaerwen, Anglesey, LL60 6BL.
