Appeal for information in Denbigh

Police are appealing for information after a war memorial in Denbigh was vandalised over the weekend.

Police and the Fire Service received a call at about 2am in the early hours of Saturday morning, January 22 after a report that a number of wreaths placed on the cenotaph during last years remembrance parade had been set on fire. The wreaths were destroyed leaving black burn marks on the cenotaph.

Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Arwel Ellis said: “We are taking this mindless act of vandalism seriously and can reassure the local public that a full investigation will take place and we will pursue all lines of inquiry to try and discover who is responsible.

“We are asking anyone who may have been in the area at this time and saw something to please get in touch.”
