Early Start to Port Talbot RNLI Sunday training

Port Talbot RNLI inshore lifeboat  was called out at 8.33am this morning, Sunday 23 January, after a 17ft fishing boat, Wilson Flyer reported to coastguards that they had suffered complete electrical failure and were unable to restart their engine.

The casualty, which was from Swansea, had four people on board who were in a fishing competition approx two miles off the deep water harbour at Port Talbot.

Once on scene the lifeboat crew secured a tow and the casualty was towed into the River Afan where it was tied up alongside the launching slip until its trailer could be brought from Swansea for recovery. The Port Talbot volunteer RNLI crew then returned to station to carry on with normal Sunday training.
