South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses after a serious assault in Aberdare last night (25th July).
The victim, a 15 year old, was in Weatherall Street, when he was assaulted by another male. The victim, who is from the Aberdare area, suffered serious head injuries.
Detectives want to speak to anyone who was around Seymour Street or Weatherall Street area around 11pm last night, Friday 25th July, when the attack took place and may have seen the male suspect. They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who was in the Cumbrian Inn around closing time who may have seen the victim prior to the assault.
Police would also like to hear from anyone who may have had sight of two specific cars in the area around that time, one being silver and the other being gold in colour. The two cars may have been travelling in convoy.
Detective Chief Inspector Kath Pritchard said: “This is an appalling act of violence which has left a young man with serious injuries”.
“We really need to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the attack or saw the man fleeing from the scene”.
The area around Weatherall Street has been cordoned off by police whilst further investigations take place.
