Bishop of Monmouth appoints two Honorary Canons for Newport Cathedral

The Bishop of Monmouth, Rt Revd Dominic Walker OGS, has announced the appointment of two Honorary Canons for Newport Cathedral. They are Revd Iain Doull who is Vicar of Christ Church, Newport, and Revd John Heales who is Vicar of the Penhow group of parishes.

Announcing the appointments, the Bishop said,
“Iain Doull and John Heales have both served in the Diocese of Monmouth for over 30 years and have been faithful and loving parish priests. It is good to be able to mark their ministries and to thank them for all that they have contributed by admitting them as honorary Canons of Newport Cathedral. As well as being parish priests, Iain has also served as a Church Army evangelist and as an industrial chaplain. John has also served as a school chaplain and teacher and has bravely continued in full-time ministry in spite suffering a severe stroke some years ago.”

The new Canons will be installed in the Cathedral on 5th June at 6.30pm.
