Bluetooth alert

North Wales Police is using mobile technology to send out safety messages to the public during the World Cup.

Western division is running the campaign following the launch of Operation Serenity on domestic abuse earlier this week. The message calls for people not to use violence and drink alcohol sensibly.

PCSO Norman Hughes said that the free safety warning would be available to anyone whose mobile phone was connected to the Bluetooth messaging service and would clearly show that it had been sent from North Wales Police.

He said that initially the message would be received in the Caernarfon district but would also extend to the rest of Gwynedd and Anglesey.
