South Pembrokeshire AM Angela Burns welcomed the recent update from the Welsh Assembly Government regarding the progress of the NGBW project.
The NGBW project will deliver broadband to the whole of Wales and especially the rural areas which have been omitted in previous projects. The bids from 4 potential suppliers have been received by the Welsh Assembly Government and it is their intention to award the contract by March 2012.
Angela Burns commented; “I am relieved to see movement on this at long last. My primary concern is that the Welsh Government should make sure the contract ensures implementation of broadband into all rural areas unlike last time when the contractor cherry picked the easy to get to areas”.
