Business surgeries a great success

A series of business surgeries have taken place in Bargoed, Rhymney and New Tredegar to ensure that as many local businesses and potential start-ups had the opportunity to talk to members of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Economic Development team about their eligibility for grant funding.

Cllr Ron Davies, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Planning said, “The Economic Development team were on hand to give support to businesses in their application process. These workshops were about bringing information directly to the business sector, many of whom are finding the current economic climate difficult”.

He continued, “Our role is to ignite their appetite to apply for grants and this was a simple but effective solution.”

With the assistance of the Bargoed and New Tredegar Community First Partnerships and Rhymney Partnership, the business surgeries took place at Young @ Heart in Bargoed, High Street in Rhymney and the White Rose Centre in New Tredegar.

The team took more than 40 enquiries at the surgeries – the majority of which were from businesses in the retail sector.

All business enquiries are being processed by the Economic Development Team. For more information about the support available, including financial support, please contact Economic Development on 01443 866222 or email [email protected]
