Call for Enterprise Zones in North Wales

Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has welcomed calls by the Shadow Minister for Business and Enterprise to establish enterprise zones in North Wales.

Darren Millar hosted a visit by the Shadow Minister for Business and Enterprise Andrew RT Davies AM to Abergele earlier this week to meet with representatives of the local business community to discuss the current business environment in Wales.  During the visit Andrew met with Len Wilcock and Steve West of the North Wales Business Park.

Speaking after the meeting Darren Millar said:

“I’m pleased that Andrew is taking the opportunity to meet with businesses across Wales to discuss their concerns and I’m delighted that he recognises the need to establish enterprise zones here in Wales.

“Enterprise zones are already being established over the border in the north west of England it is now becoming critical that the Welsh Government level the playing field by establishing some in North Wales.

“Enterprise zones can encourage inward investment, help business start-ups and make Wales a more attractive place to do business. I very much hope that the North Wales Business Park and other locations in the region will be able to benefit from designation in the not too distant future.”
