Flintshire Business Week 2011’s two day business exhibition

A breakfast event took place at ConvaTec in Deeside recently, to promote Flintshire Business Week’s two day business exhibition which will take place on 12 and 13 October this year.

Sponsored by ConvaTec, the exhibition will be held at the company’s premises on the Deeside Industrial Park and is expected to attract at least 100 trade stands.

At the launch, ConvaTec played host to 52 delegates from 32 businesses. Business delegates included representatives from Airbus, Toyota, West Coast Energy, Strateco, FibreSpeed, Ecosystems, P&A Group, Parkway Telecom, Institution of Chemical Engineers, EEF, MDA and Allan Morris Transport, amongst many others. The Leader of Flintshire County Council, Councillor Arnold Woolley, the Executive Member for Regeneration and Tourism, Councillor Matt Wright, and the Vice-Chairman of the Council, Councillor Fred Gillmore, as well as local MP, Mark Tami, also attended.

The Council’s Senior Business Advisor, Patricia Carlin, gave a presentation about the importance of the excellent manufacturing base and corresponding supply chains that we have in the county, and the need to increase opportunities to trade by opening our doors and embracing our neighbours.

Jo Graham, ConvaTec’s Director of Operations in the UK, said:

“ConvaTec is proud to be hosting this two-day business exhibition, which is a first for the Flintshire Business Week. As a company, we believe that it’s important to work with the local community and to share that experience with our employees. We were also pleased to be able to host the launch event in our brand new multi-media customer facility.”

Councillor Matt Wright, Executive Member for Regeneration and Tourism, said:

“I would like to thank ConvaTec for their hospitality in hosting such a successful event. October’s business exhibition is a new departure for the Flintshire Business Week, which has grown over the years and is now being recognised nationally as one of the top business events in the region. Flintshire is a county that is very much open for business and I believe that businesses are stronger when they work together.”
