Chair and Deputy Leader of the Council visit Westbridge Furniture Designs Ltd

Councillor Hilary McGuill, Chair of Flintshire County Council, and Councillor Tony Sharps, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Environment, recently visited one of the county’s largest employers – Westbridge Furniture Designs Limited, the UK’s largest own brand upholstery manufacturer.

Westbridge Furniture Designs Limited has its headquarters in Greenfield and supplies independent furniture stores and high street retailers throughout the UK.

Speaking after the visit, Councillor McGuill said:

“I’d like to thank Operations Director Nigel Holifield, Factory Manager Marie Jones, and all the team at Westbridge Furniture Designs for taking the time to show us around their factory, which is a very impressive facility.”

Councillor Sharps said:

“Westbridge is one of our largest employers in Flintshire and is one of our success stories. The company employs 570 people across three dedicated manufacturing facilities in North Wales.

“Westbridge is a very successful business providing many jobs for local people, at a time when manufacturing jobs are being lost in great numbers throughout the country. The Council has worked closely with Westbridge over a number of years and looks forward to continuing that good working relationship. The visit was interesting and informative.”
