Super Cardiff Schemes to Play Out all Summer

Exciting playschemes are being held all over the city to keep the little ones entertained throughout the summer break.

Cardiff Council’s Children’s Play Services are operating several Open Access play schemes in a variety of venues.

All playschemes run child-led activities and assist in the healthy development of children and young people.

The free sessions offer a variety of activities including arts, crafts, and non competitive games. They also provide the opportunity for children to explore their own ideas and many of the activities come from the children such as den building and costume making.

Open Access playschemes aim to promote free play amongst children and young people and improve opportunities across Cardiff.

Executive Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture, Cllr Nigel Howells said: “In today’s society it is hugely important that children have access to enjoyable challenging play opportunities.

“The schemes are run by experienced, enthusiastic and qualified playworkers who deliver a wide range of exciting and stimulating play provision for children and young people across the city.”
