Deadline looms for Swansea parks photo competition

Budding photographers have little time left to get their entries in for a colourful competition.

The deadline for the Your Park in Pictures competition that’s been running over the summer has been set for Friday September 10.

Swansea has over 52 parks located across the city. They include the green flag winning attractions of Clyne Gardens, Singleton Botanical Gardens, Brynmill Park and Victoria Park.

Sian Davies, of Swansea Council’s Marketing Team, has been helping co-ordinate the competition.

She said: “We’re fortunate in Swansea to have such a diversity of parks on our doorsteps and this competition is a way of celebrating their importance to many people’s everyday lives.

“Their contribution to the first class work-life balance for which Swansea’s renowned can’t be overstated and we’re looking forward to seeing how people have gone about capturing them through photography.

“We’ve already been flooded by entries but would urge anyone who’s interested but has yet to enter to get their photos into us by the end of the week.

“The standard so far has been very high and picking a winner will be a tough task.”

Photographs can be colour or black and white and have to be sent to [email protected] along with a name, an address, a contact number and a brief description of where the photo was taken.

People have to be 16 or over to take part.
