Financial support for your Anglesey business

The North West Wales Local Investment Fund (LIF) launched in June 2009, has now offered more than £1,500,000 in grant support, helping around 300 businesses across the region.

The flexible business grant scheme which has been part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Welsh Government, delivers grant support on the Isle of Anglesey as well as in Gwynedd, Conwy and Denbighshire.

The scheme now offers funding between £1,000 and £10,000 for qualifying capital projects at 40% of the total eligible project costs.

Grant funding has allowed a bistro bar in Holyhead town centre to also provide a function room and conference facilities. Other businesses have benefited from the LIF include a Gwynedd-based supplier of auto parts, components and equipment to the motor trade; a provider of diode lasers, opto-electronics and related technologies in Denbighshire and a rural business in Conwy selling natural building materials and providing training to the trade in the use of these building materials.

The Isle of Anglesey County Council is lead authority for the project and will offer other companies a chance to learn more about LIF during the 2011 Anglesey Business Week, held between September 19th-23rd.

The Anglesey LIF team will also be hosting a presentation during the launch of Anglesey Business Week on Monday September 19th at the Oriel Ynys Môn, Llangefni.

Council Leader, Councillor Bryan Owen said, “I’d urge businesses interested in learning about grant opportunities available through LIF to attend the 2011 Anglesey Business Week, which will be held later this month.”
