Flint lifeboat called to reported Mayday

Liverpool Coastguard requested the immediate launch of Flint RNLI lifeboat yesterday, this following a weak mayday call from a vessel claiming to be the ‘Lady Sarah’ in difficulty off the number 8 buoy, RNLI volunteers from Flint lifeboat responded immediately to the call which was received at 1.59pm, and launched from the new slipway at Greenfield at 2.12pm.

The lifeboat and crew carried out a thorough search from Greenfield to Flint, and back to Greenfield, but nothing was found. They were stood down at 3.15pm, returned to station, and were ready for service at 4.15pm.

An RNLI spokesperson said, sea conditions, and visibility were good, whatever the call we respond as quickly as possible, and that was the case today.
