Reindeer parades, Christmas lights and festive fayres are set to brighten up the nights in the coming weeks, as Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Winter events season gets underway.
There’ll be the free festive fun for all the family in the following town centres:
Porth – Wednesday, November 24, from 4.30pm
Tree of Memory Service with local school choirs 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
Santa’s grotto, funfair and street entertainers at Porth Square from 5.30pm.
Aberdare – Thursday, November 25, 5pm to 7pm
Reindeers, Santa’s grotto, funfair and street entertainers at the library square, Santa and reindeer parade at 6.30pm.
Treorchy – Friday November 26, 3pm to 7pm
Christmas Market, Santa’s grotto plus street entertainers in the car park at the rear of the library.
Tonypandy – Monday, November, 29, from 6pm
Carol service with local school children, Santa’s grotto, funfair and street entertainers at Dunraven Street.
Llantrisant – Wednesday, December 1, 3pm to 8pm
Christmas Market, Santa’s grotto plus street entertainers on Castle Green; a lantern parade at 6.15pm and Carols in the Bullring at 6.30pm.
Tonyrefail – Thursday, December 2, 5pm-7pm
Santa’s grotto, funfair and street entertainers at leisure centre car park, Santa and reindeer parade at 6.30pm.
Pontypridd – Saturday, December 4, 11am-4pm
Christmas Market, Santa’s Winter Wonderland, craft workshops, funfair and street entertainers at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park.
Mountain Ash – December 7, 3pm-7pm
Christmas Market, Santa’s grotto plus street entertainers in Henry Street car park.
Ferndale – Wednesday, December 8, 5pm-7pm
Santa’s grotto, funfair and street entertainers at Ferndale town centre, Santa and reindeer parade at 6.30pm.
Councillor Maureen Webber Cabinet Member for Community Engagement and Council Business, said:”The Christmas events are a highlight of our annual events calendar, bringing many people into our town centres.
“Local schoolchildren have been involved with the preparations this year, making lanterns and decorations. We hope people of all ages will come along and join us at these magical festive events.”
