Getting ‘stuck in’ at Caerphilly Library

Caerphilly Library celebrated the end of the World Cup in style recently, with a special day for young footie fans dedicated to collecting football stickers.

Working in conjunction with Caerphilly Leisure Centre, who donated prizes and also hosted a session, a fun day was arranged for local youngsters to meet and swap their stickers in search of the ‘elusive’ few to complete their collections.

Over 100 youngsters enjoyed an array of activities that included a football quiz, a competition to design a football kit and matching flags to participating countries. Winners of the competitions were then invited to a prize giving ceremony and were presented with their prizes.

The sponsors for the day, the Panini Sticker Company kindly donated packs of stickers and members of their team were also on hand to help the young people with the swap.

One young person was very impressed with the event and said, “The staff worked very hard, organised it well and made it a very enjoyable family experience.”
