Gwynedd Business Week 2010

This year’s Gwynedd Business Week will take place between 17-21 May.

Now in its fifth year, Gwynedd Business Week has become an important opportunity for the business community to get together.

There are over 15 events taking place across the county throughout the week and further details of these events are on the Gwynedd Business Week website, www.gwyneddbusinessweek.co.uk or www.wythnosbusnesgwynedd.co.uk.

The highlight of this year’s Gwynedd Business Week will be the annual Gala Dinner. Plas Glynllifon Mansion near Caernarfon has been selected as the venue for this prestigious event on Friday evening, 21st May. This year’s guest speaker will be John Jermine, Chair of Ryder Cup Wales 2010.

During the dinner, Gwynedd Business Network will present the Special Contribution Award to recognise the significant contribution made by an individual or business to the business sector in Gwynedd.  Past winners have included the Rt. Hon. Dafydd Wigley, Robin Llywelyn and Fred Foskett.

For the first time, the Federation of Small Businesses will also award a Business Hero prize to a small businesses based in Gwynedd employing 20 people or less.

Gwynedd Council Leader, Councillor Dyfed Edwards said:

Gwynedd Business Week is a great platform for celebrating the best of Gwynedd businesses, this year through the Special Contribution Award and our first ever Business Hero award, targeted particularly at small businesses.  It also offers that important opportunity to bring the business community together, whether to discuss business matters or to get practical support on how to thrive in these challenging times.  I urge all Gwynedd businesses to find the time to attend at least one event.”
