Jenny Willott Joins Asda Panel to Discuss Mums’ Priorities for 2015 Election

Jenny_WillottToday (Thursday 8th May) Asda are launching their Mumdex Manifesto, a report examining the views and priorities of over 5,500 Asda mums as we hit the ‘one-year-to-go’ point before the May 2015 General Election.

As part of the launch Jenny Willott, Liberal Democrat MP for Cardiff Central, is taking part in a panel debate in Parliament to discuss the findings of the report, joining Asda mums and representatives from the other main political parties.

Commenting, Jenny Willott MP said:

“I am delighted to be taking part in this exciting event and to have the opportunity to talk to mums about what really matters to them. We are finally starting to see signs that the economy is recovering after a really tough few years – for the first time in years real wages are rising in line with prices; unemployment is falling at the fastest rate in over a decade; and the proportion of women in work has reached 67.6%, the highest since records began. But of course what matters is not economists’ statistics but how real people are actually feeling. As one of the few mums in Parliament with young children, I’m really looking forward to hearing from other mums about how they’re finding things and what they would like to see politicians focusing on.”
