Jobsfair comes to Flint

Flint Communities First has joined forces with JobCentre Plus to organise a Jobsfair in Flint. The event will take place on Thursday, 11 February from 10am – 3pm at the Pavilion Leisure Centre.

The aim of the event is to help local people to find work and to help employers to fill their vacancies.

Employers are keen to be involved and already Schneider Electric (MITA) who have 10 permanent Production/ Warehouse vacancies to fill, Flintshire County Council, Home Instead (a Care agency) Deeside College and Refurbs Flintshire have pledged support for the event.

As well as finding out about jobs, people will be able to find out about training courses which will help them to gain the skills and knowledge they need in today’s modern workplace.

Michelle Turner, Chair of the Communities First Partnership Board in Flint,
said: “In 2009, we carried out a survey of businesses and despite the fact that we are experiencing difficult times, 18% of employers said they had vacancies to fill.

“Recruiting and upskilling staff is very important to businesses and attracting the right person for the job is essential.  Equally, helping local people in their search for suitable employment is the key to all round success.”

Local business can book a stand at the event by contacting [email protected] . Stands will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Residents need only turn up on the day. There is no need to book in advance.
