Meet the police at Llangefni

An open invitation is being extended to people in Llangefni to tell police about local issues.

North Wales Police and the Police Authority are holding a public meeting at St Cyngar’s Church Hall on Wednesday, December 1st at 7pm. Members of the Anglesey District Neighbourhood Police team will be on hand to speak to residents along with Police Authority Member, Councillor Peter Rogers.

District Inspector for the area, Gareth Evans said: “Lots of people already make their views known to us through Balance your Bobbies, but we’re hoping that local people will come along to this meeting and talk to us direct about what’s important to them in the town. We want to give members of the community the chance to make a difference to the future of policing and one way in which they can do this is to come along to the meeting.

“It is also an opportunity for us to tell people what we’ve been doing to tackle previous priorities identified through Balance your Bobbies, the online system which allows people to let us know about their area.

Councillor Peter Rogers from the North Wales Police Authority said: “Community engagement enables North Wales Police and the Police Authority to gather perceptions of how far our service meets the needs of communities across North Wales, and identify ways in which we can improve the service. It also gives the community the opportunity to give their opinion on crime and disorder, their policing priorities, and to tell us what problems there are in their communities.

“I would encourage the local residents to come along to have their say.”

This is the first in a series of meetings organised by North Wales Police and the North Wales Police Authority to find out about local views and opinions. Information on meetings in other areas will be published on the website and widely advertised in local areas.

As well as attending local meetings people can also make their views known through www.balanceyourbobbies.com .
