Millar: Headland Foods Factory closure is “another blow” to economy

Commenting on the confirmed closure of the former Headlands Foods factory in Flintshire, Shadow Minister for Economy, Darren Millar AM, said:

“This is a real kick in the teeth for the 318 people affected, along with their families.

“It is yet another blow to the Welsh economy and whether it is help with re-training or job-searching, WAG has got to make working with those who’ve lost their positions a priority.

“Labour-Plaid’s Economic Renewal Programme is doing absolutely nothing to prevent situations similar to this. It hasn’t given a penny to any businesses in Wales since it was set up last July.

“That is extremely concerning and I urge WAG to take action immediately.”
