North Wales Assembly Member Darren Millar AM has called for Conwy and Denbighshire councils to protect public conveniences.
Darren was speaking as Welsh Senate of Older People held a day of action at the Senedd to campaign for public toilet provision.
Darren said:
“Public conveniences provide an important service to visitors and the local community alike. It’s essential we safeguard their provision.
“A number of public conveniences have been closed across Conwy and Denbighshire in recent years and councils must not see them as a soft target for savings.
“I’ve been pleased to have been involved in successful campaigns to keep conveniences in Rhos-on-Sea and Llanfair TH open.
“Should any further proposals come forward which would lead to the closure of public conveniences in our area, I will continue to fight against them.”
