Millar: Treatment waiting times rise again

Commenting on new government figures showing another rise in the number of patients waiting more than 36 weeks for treatment, Shadow Minister for Health Darren Millar AM, said:

“Yet another rise – no doubt soon to be followed by yet another senseless response from the Health Minister.

“This waiting time Groundhog Day has got to stop. Welsh patients deserve better than these predictable and ever-increasing delays.

“13 per cent of Wales is now waiting for treatment on the NHS. The number waiting over 36 weeks has risen every month since March. Before that – it had still been getting worse and worse.

“Hard-working frontline services should not be put under the strain and pressure that Labour is inflicting. I urge the Health Minister to turn her NHS cuts around and protect the health budget.”
