Commenting on today’s report that Assembly Government
ministers did not go to Bosch HQ in Germany to try and save 900 jobs at its plant near Cardiff, Shadow Minister for the Economy David Melding AM said:
“I am astonished the Assembly Government did not explore every possible avenue to try and save hundreds of Welsh jobs and persuade Bosch to keep its Welsh plant open.
“Ministers should have travelled to Germany to persuade Bosch of the importance of this plant to Wales, and to underline the dedication and skills of the Welsh workforce.
“It’s simply not good enough for them to sit at home and talk to local representatives when decisions over the fate of this plant and 900 workers are taken hundreds of miles away in Germany.”
