Monmouthshire County Council Agrees Equalities Plan

Monmouthshire County Council has agreed its Strategic Equalities Plan. The plan, which meets the requirement of the Equalities Act 2010 for local authorities to have such a plan, was passed at the council meeting on 22nd November 2012.

Cllr Phil Hobson, Monmouthshire County Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Equalities, said:

“This is great news for Monmouthshire. As a public body we must ensure that we are able to deliver services to all our citizens in a way that best meets their needs. Clearly that means that we need to look at the demographics of our county and continue to properly engage with the communities we serve.”

He added:

“The hard work really begins now. We’ve committed to this, so we now have to shape our services in the coming months and years so as to ensure we continue to meet the needs of everyone in Monmouthshire.
