Monmouthshire past chairman’s appeal benefits top charities

Representatives from Wales Air Ambulance and Help for Heroes visited County Hall today (Thursday, 21st October) to receive cheques from County Councillor Jane Foulser, who served as Chairman of Monmouthshire County Council during 2009/10.  Councillor Foulser raised a total of £3,988 for her chosen charities during her year of office.

Receiving the cheques were volunteers and fundraisers Mervyn and Madeleine Thomas for the Wales Air Ambulance and Diana McCrea, the Help for Heroes Co-ordinator for Monmouthshire.  Mervyn described the work of the Air Ambulance, which is an all Wales charity providing a vital service through emergency air cover for those who face life-threatening illness or injuries.  Diana outlined the work undertaken by Help for Heroes since its inception three years ago.

Councillor Foulser, who was accompanied by her husband Bill, said: “It’s a real pleasure to meet Mervyn, Madeleine and Diana and pass on much needed funds for such noble causes.  We wish them well for the future”.
