Re-modelling Ysgol Twm o’r Nant

Construction work has started on a ££1.4m extension and remodeling project at Ysgol Twm o’r Nant, Denbigh which has been funded by Welsh Government and Denbighshire County Council in light of the growing demand for education through the medium of Welsh in the north of the County.

The work will see construction of an extension that will provide three new classrooms, a new school hall and the extension and remodelling of the current school reception. All temporary accommodation will be removed from the site as a result of this work. In addition, external areas will be landscaped, to create a more suitable playing field for the school.

Denbighshire County Council has worked in close partnership with the School, Governors and other key stakeholders in developing the project.

The Head teacher of Ysgol Twm o’r Nant said: “We are delighted that work is now underway to build the extension which we are looking forward to use upon its completion.”

Councillor Eryl Williams Lead Member for Education said: “This project is great news for the school and demonstrates Denbighshire County Council’s continued commitment to invest in improving the counties schools making them fit for the delivery of a modern curriculum”.

The project is expected to be completed by August 2014.
