Residents invited to have their say over the Council’s budget plans

Flintshire County Council is keen to hear residents’ views as it plans its budget for next year and future years.

The Council is inviting residents and businesses to help shape its budget proposals, by completing a short questionnaire, which is available at www.flintshire.gov.uk

The Council’s budget strategy is planned to protect services to the public. The survey includes questions about how we are planning to reduce our operating and internal costs, how we are reviewing the charges we make for services, our steady approach to Council Tax increases, partnership working and how we invest in buildings and roads networks.

Councillor Arnold Woolley, Leader of Flintshire County Council said:

“I want to encourage as many people as possible to fill in this questionnaire before Friday December 16. It is now available on our Council website, to enable us to gather as many views as possible. If you can’t access the website at home, then it can be accessed by visiting one of our local libraries. We want people to let us know what is important to them.”

The budget questionnaire is available online at www.flintshire.gov.uk, and can be accessed via the Council’s home page.

Adverts will be appearing in the local press shortly, at which point people will also be able to complete the survey in paper form.

The deadline for responses is Friday December 16 2011.
