Road Traffic Accident, M4

South Wales PoliceAt around 2100 hours on Monday 3rd March 2014 a Serious Personal Injury Road Traffic Collision occurred on the M4 motorway westbound between junctions 36 Sarn & 37 Pyle.

A red Nissan Terrano motor vehicle towing a horse box was in collision with a grey Vauxhall Insignia motor vehicle, whilst both vehicles travelled westbound. As a result the horse box became detached and the Terrano sustained extensive damage coming to rest on its roof. The Vauxhall Insignia also sustained extensive damage leaving the carriageway to the nearside. The horses were uninjured.

Occupants of both vehicles were taken to Morriston, Princess of Wales & University of Wales Hospitals and one local 35 year old female passenger sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.

South Wales Police Roads Policing Department are appealing for witnesses to the collision or manner of driving of either vehicle prior to contact them on 101.
