Rugby Tackling the Eisteddfod Local Fund

The Eisteddfod is working with the Crusaders RFL to offer an opportunity for supporters to enjoy one of the season’s biggest games whilst supporting the National Eisteddfod.

The game between the Crusaders and the Wigan Warriors, held at 15.00 on Sunday 1 May is an important game for both teams, and supporters will be able to complete a simple voucher available online and distributed widely locally to be part of the scheme.

The voucher should be presented when buying tickets for the game at the Racecourse ticket office in Wrexham, and the club will contribute towards the local fund.

Elfed Roberts said, “This is a great scheme and an excellent way of raising money towards the local fund. We are grateful to the Crusaders for their support and hope that many of their supporters will take advantage of the vouchers, not only to support the scheme but also to support the club in this important game.”

The Wrexham and District National Eisteddfod is held on land at Lower Berse Farm, off Ruthin Road, Wrexham, from 30 July – 6 August.

The National Eisteddfod attracts 150,000-160,000 visitors every year, travelling around Wales and visiting north and south Wales alternately. The Welsh Assembly Government has contributed £25,000 towards a two tickets for the price of one scheme for Wrexham Borough residents during the first weekend of the festival, 30-31 July. The Eisteddfod will announce details of the scheme shortly.
