School buses pass the test

As part of the ongoing national Operation Coachman, North Wales Police’s Commercial Vehicle Unit, in conjunction with Vosa officers, have carried out checks on both large and small passenger carrying vehicles conveying pupils to and from schools.

Over the past week checks have been carried out at Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni on Anglesey and Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy in Llanrwst.

Sgt Ifan Jones, who runs the unit said: “It was pleasing that no defects were found on any of the vehicles conveying pupils to and from the schools. This is assurance for the schools as well as the parents of these pupils.”

Insp Jones explained that similar operations will be undertaken on service vehicles carrying pupils to and from schools across North Wales in the near future.
