Sports exhibition touches down in Talbot Green

An exhibition of photographs celebrating the hard work and dedication put into sport in Wales by coaches and volunteers arrives in Rhondda Cynon Taf next month.

Sports Wales’ latest campaign ‘Behind Every Star‘ recognises the importance of coaches and volunteers in sport across the country. As part of the campaign, the Behind Every Star photography exhibition will be at Talbot Green Shopping Centre on Friday and Saturday, June 4 and 5. The photographs can be viewed in the car park area of the shopping complex between 9am and 5pm.

Eleven of Wales’s sporting heroes are pictured, with some of their most influential coaches.

n a bid to inspire the people of Wales to play their part in creating a nation of champions, esteemed photographer Terry Morris captured on film – among others – Lions and Welsh rugby fullback Jamie Roberts, World and Paralympic Champion swimmer Liz Johnson (pictured above with coach Billy Pye) Cardiff City and Welsh International midfielder Joe Ledley and World Champion triathlete Helen Jenkins, with their coaches.

Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Sports Development team are backing the campaign and will be hosting a conference for all aspiring coaches and those involved in coaching, at the University of Glamorgan on Saturday, July 10 from 10am-3pm.
