TIC staff go pink for charity

If you went down to Pembroke tourist information centre last Friday you may have been in for a pink surprise.

For staff at Pembroke TIC dressed up in bright pink costumes to raise funds for breast cancer charity – Breast Cancer Care.

Their Pink Friday effort was organised by long time TIC staff member Sheila Ralph and was one of several fund raising events held throughout the town.

“Breast Cancer Care is a charity after my own heart,” said Sheila, who had breast cancer herself nine years ago and is now a peer support volunteer for the group.

“It does wonderful work helping people suffering from breast cancer and I like to help them anyway I can. If it means dressing up in a bright pink tutu then so be it!”

All Pembrokeshire TIC staff now hope to go pink every Friday this October to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast Cancer Care can be contacted on 0808 800 6000.
