TV chef Dudley heads for farmers’ markets

Welsh chef Dudley Newbery will be demonstrating how to cook inspirational seasonal dishes at Haverfordwest Farmers Market on Friday, April 16 at 11.15am.

The TV chef will also be chatting and filming with many of the local producers, as part of his new S4C series on Welsh farmers markets.

The six-part series will also feature the Welsh produce market in London, and farmers markets in Anglesey, Aberystwyth, Cardiff and Dolgellau.

“Dudley is really aiming to emphasise the quality of fresh local produce, to deter the public from shopping at supermarkets and to make the most of what is on their doorstep,” said a spokesperson for the programme.

Haverfordwest Farmers Market also had a bumper Good Friday market last week, with many shoppers buying new season produce, and children enjoying hunting for Easter eggs.

“There was plenty of fantastic Spring produce, good fun, and a great turnout of Easter bonnets,” said Kate Morgan, Food Officer for Pembrokeshire County Council and market manager.
