Update relating to Llangollen shooting

Following the investigation regarding the shooting of Philip John Morris, who was found with a gunshot wound near the Chainbridge Hotel in Llangollen on 19th May, North Wales Police have this evening charged Philip Morris, aged 46, with the possession of a prohibited weapon and perverting the course of justice.

Mr Morris from Clawdd Poncen, near Corwen was arrested this morning and detained at St Asaph. He has been remanded in custody to appear before Prestatyn court tomorrow morning, Thursday 24 June.

Detective Inspector Iestyn Davies said: “North Wales Police would like to stress that we are not looking for anyone in connection with this incident and would like to thank the residents of the Llangollen area for the assistance given during the investigation.”
