Business leaders are invited to a St David’s Day Eve event, with guest speaker Dafydd Hardy, director of Dafydd Hardy Estate Agents, talking about the use of Welsh in business.

The overall topic is ‘supporting business in Wales’ and Robert Lloyd Griffiths, chair of Business Wales, the Welsh Government’s support service for businesses, will join Dafydd in addressing guests.

The event is being run by the Institute of Directors (IoD) North Wales branch, in conjunction with The Management Centre at Bangor University, where it is taking place, the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Cymru Wales.
Attendees will also have chance to network at the lunch, which is on Friday 28 February.

IoD North Wales chair, Helen Watson pictured), said:

“It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to hear from Dafydd and Robert. They are both heavily involved with, and have experienced success of, company growth and the advice available to firms in the region.

“We urge the business community across North Wales to join us at this lunch and we particularly welcome new members. You don’t need to be a company director to join the IoD. Senior managers are welcome from large public organisations to small family firms.”

Dafydd Hardy Estate Agents won the small business Welsh at Work award in 2011, and bilingualism is actively promoted throughout the company.

As well as his role at Business Wales, Robert is involved with a number of high-profile positions across the country. He is the director of IoD Wales, a member of The Secretary of State for Wales’ Business Advisory Group and is on the board of Leadership and Management Wales.

The IoD is the longest-standing organisation to serve and support business leaders, with more than 100 years of service in raising professional standards.

Members benefit from services including free business advice, a full training programme, research facilities and networking events.

Tickets to the lunch, which takes place between noon and 2pm, cost £12.50 plus VAT.
