Warning following burglaries in Flint

North Wales Police are appealing for the public to be vigilant following a spate of burglaries around the Flint area.

Over the last week three burglaries have been reported to police, which have involved items such as cash and electrical goods being stolen.

The burglaries have taken place whereby properties have been left insecure and windows have been forced open, and officers are appealing for people to be vigilant and ensure their properties are secure.

Top Tips……….

  • ALWAYS remember to lock all windows and doors when you leave your home, even if you are in the garden
  • ENSURE your home has secure locks on windows and doors
  • KEEP all outside properties, including sheds and garages secure
  • ENSURE that all keys and other valuables such as handbags are stored out of sight and out of view of any callers
  • NEVER keep spare house keys under plant pots or foot mats – these are the first places a burglar is likely to look
  • If you plan to go away on holiday, remember to cancel your milk and newspapers. It’s also an idea to ask a good friend or neighbour to keep an eye on your property while you are away
  • Install outside lighting, particularly lights which operate automatically when someone approaches your property
  • REMEMBER to postcode all your property
