Well Inn Music Festival returns to Holywell Town Centre

Continuing the great programme of Summer Events in Holywell Town Centre, plans are taking shape for the Well Inn Music Festival which will be taking place on the High Street and Tower Gardens from 11am to 7pm on Saturday 8th September.

This popular music festival was held for the first time in 2011 and brought hundreds of people to the streets of Holywell Town Centre whilst generating positive publicity and a great feel good factor to the town.

The Well Inn Music Festival has been organised under the umbrella of Holywell Town Partnership, led by a small group of Councillors and officers from Holywell Town Council, Flintshire County Council and Holywell Communities First, along with other volunteers. There will be a main stage located at the end of Tower Gardens which will host a fantastic range of local bands performing their own songs or well known covers. The Acoustic stage, which will be located on Well Street, at the bottom end of the High Street, will include a range of talented local singer-songwriters.

There will also be a jazz corner and a Victorian open-top Omnibus playing host to a range of musical acts. A fun range of family activities, including fairground rides will also be in the town centre on the day, along with some great craft stalls. Free parking will be available all day in the former Somerfield car park.

Funding for the event has been sought from a range of public sources, including a donation from Holywell Town Council, as well as private sponsorship from local businesses. All sponsors will have their name prominently displayed alongside the main stage on the day. Anyone interested in sponsoring the event can contact Clare Madders at Flintshire County Council on 01352 703225 or Martin Fearnley at Holywell Town Council on 01352 711757.

Cllr Peter Curtis said,

‘’The Well Inn Music Festival 2012 is going to be great. We’ve got an excellent range of performers, many of them from the local area, providing a variety of music as well as variety of family and children’s activities, so there should be something for everyone. Events like this are important to bring much needed footfall into the town centre, but also to raise the profile of Holywell with everyone welcome to join in a fantastic day’’.

Further details including up to date information on performers at the event, can be found by searching for ‘Well Inn Music Festival’ on Facebook. Posters, banners and flyers will also be distributed and displayed around the town in a few weeks time providing more details for what promises to be a great day out.
