Welsh premiere for breakdancers at Brecon

AFTER the critical acclaim and sell out success of previous production State Of Matter in 2008, the award winning 2FaCeD DaNcE return to Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon, on Wednesday September 30 with a highly charged, gritty new work.

Excitingly, the performance will be the opening night of the company’s Autumn tour and the first time the piece will have been performed outside of this year’s Edinburgh Festival where it received glowing reviews and many plaudits.

Choreographed by Artistic Director Tamsin Fitzgerald, Still Breathing features stunning athleticism, explosive abstract break-dancing and masculine vulnerability. Set to an electrifyingly intense and specially commissioned score, the work promises an hour of unstoppable seemingly impossible movement performed by an all-male company.

2FaCeD DaNcE Company is based in Hereford and has become one of the brightest new dance outfits at work in the UK today. In addition to performing live, the company also teaches breakdancing, including two sessions at Theatr Brycheiniog on Wednesday evenings (call Cathey Morgan on 01874 622838 for details).

2FaCeD DaNcE Company perform Still Breathing at Theatr Brycheiniog on Wednesday 30 September at 7.45pm. Tickets cost £12.50 (£10.00, £6.00 concs) and are available online at www.theatrbrycheiniog.co.uk or from the venue’s box office on 01874 611622.

Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon, is one of Wales’ foremost arts centres with a wide-ranging programme of music, theatre, dance and comedy. Its funding partners include the Arts Council Of Wales, Powys County Council and Brecon Town Council.
