When I was in Year 7 DVD launch

The crowds were out yesterday for No Smoking Day at Cwmtawe Community School.

Hundreds of children hit the playground and cheered loudly as 96.4fm The Wave presenters Siany and Claire Scott wowed the crowds.

Health Challenge Neath Port Talbot worked with the Wave radio station to launch its health promotion DVD which delivers some hard hitting messages about smoking.

Actors and stars of the DVD from the Mark Jermin Stage School were also at the launch.

Also in attendance was Deputy leader Peter Rees, who said “The DVD aims to educate young people about the dangers of smoking.”

He added, “We decided to launch the DVD at a local comprehensive school, as research tells us that many young people start to smoke in the early years of secondary school.”

Following the launch, the DVD will be distributed to all comprehensive schools in Neath Port Talbot and health partners will be able to use it to reinforce the message that smoking can seriously increases the risk of health problems in children and adolescents.
